 We prepared our auditions songs and monologues. We performed one by one in the room infront  of Grace and terry. We had then a workshop of trying out people for different parts  and what suited who. By the end of the day we came back and the show was casted, I had been casted as the roll of Dandini. Through rehearsals we blocked act 1 and got use to how everything worked and where to come on from and entrances and exits. I got use to my character and how to play and portray him. I made Dandini a fun and stupid character. An excercise I used to make sure I pronounced my words correctly was a little tongue twist before singing and going on for my scenes. As it is a plain welsh accent.  By the end of the day we had run act 1 and I wrote down my directions and all my notes on my script to remember where and what I do. 9am start of the morning, we went through all the songs and what harmonies to do in each of them. We also worked out who would be off stage singing and who’s mics will be on for vocals in songs to sound strong! We then had run the songs before a break. After the break we had come back and had a presentation to see how the stage is set and what the flats are going to be like, how far and much space we have one stage and then set. We also saw the characters costumes and what everyone will be wearing. To the end we had blocked ACT 2 and wrote down my directions and notes for act 2. FIRST DANCE REHEARSALS AND RUN OF SHOW! 


The start of day 4 rehearsals. Ensemble and Dandini (Me) had the first dance rehearsal or blocking the opening number. We had different places throughout the song and learning where to be at certain points. For my character, I had to build my stamina for dancing and singing at the same time. The dance routine

STARTING DANCE NUMBERS. 

For the first start of the morning we started the act 2 opening number of ‘Vogue’ and learning different Madonna vogue routines and putting it all together. Towards to afternoon the ugly step sisters had to choreograph their number. Us as a cast we were singing the chorus and ensemble parts for their song. DAY 6: 

Dance call and run through scenes. 

For dancers and cast in the dance routines had to be in to clean and work on the routines to see what needs cleaning up and changing or adding to it. I had to add more to my character to make it more masculine through the vogue routine. 

We also then had a scene run through at 1 o clock with lee. We ran through all the scenes in both Acts. Lee was impressed and pleased with the work I have done for my character. I found acting the way I wouldn’t as a real man but also keeping the girl side to it to keep it funny. This made my character funny and more really to relate.

CLEANED AND CHOREOGRAPHED NEVER ENOUGH. 

The start of the day we ran over the routines and cleaned them with changes that need to be changed. We then ran the numbers with the changes, this also included me changing my moves for the more masculine character. 

After lunch, we choreographed the ball scene, with the girls and working on it with using the fans. However, this was hard as it’s a slow moving ball dance.

DAY 8: 

LAST RUN OF DANCES AND RUN THROUGH AND NOTES. 


The run through and cleaning of the routines went down well. Also changing movements that didn’t look right and what the company didn’t get to their spaces in time neither. In other words, the run through went well as a good run. But there are changes that were needed to be made and scenes to look at in more detail to work on to make it look the best it can be.

MAIN CAST DETAIL THROUGH SCENES 

Today, the cast had scenes or songs to work on and improve in their characters. I didn’t have much to do in this rehearsal. Me and the chorus, had cleaned and run the numbers to keep them the best and looking good for the show. I feel I improved on my character as I had to speak in a upper class. But is also very challenging to keep my character masculine.

COSTUMES AND FITTING 


Today I tried and got fitted to my costume and if there is anything I need to buy for the costume. My costume is blue and silver to be the servant colour. I felt that the costume still kept the girl side but showed the man side I had to be for the character. Me and pheobe chatted as what to do for our hair and make up for the character, we decided on a pony tail with a ribbon in the hair as that what men had in the 19th century.

DAY 11: 

FIRST TECH REHEARSAL

Tech rehearsals went very well with costumes to. My scene was done and all set with lights and mics. I was happy with the process it went through. I am then not on till act two, through that process I had my logs and panto work to follow. TECH DAY TWO.

Today we have a long day of teching to try and get it all done. We stayed till 6pm and finished the tech of the show. Vogue took the longest to tech with all the spacing and colours of the routine and use of the whole stage. 

I am on more in act 2 with a lot of stage directions to move for the lighting etc to be right. WEEKYLY LOG: TECH WEEK.

Tech week has been busy and stressful. We had a problems that we sorted and things went to better shape, but also working together with tech and cast to make it better and good for the show. 

We didn’t work with piros until the actual show week which some of us had to be aware of when it happens in the show.

SHOWS AND SHOW WEEK! 


It’s show week and we have three shows! First one is our run before our 12:30 show. The run went good, with a few notes to take on. However we made the first show a good one for the start of the week. Until the parent show in the night and the audience made it well. We had a problem with the smoke machine as it wouldn’t stop in the opening number. But we worked around it and carried on. 


Through the week we had minor problems, but it work for making the show towards the end a clean run and went well for the school shows with such a good audience every time!! 

But for the show overall, we are really happy with how they went and could have improved on things for the future but we kept it in mind.
