His father was Prince Frederick William of Germany and his mother was the eldest daughter of Queen Victoria or Britain. Wilhelm was born with birth defects in his left arm that limited him. He was embarrassed with this deformity throughout his whole life and tried the best he could to hide it from the public. Here he got a military education to prepare him for his heir of Germany. In 1881 he married Princess Augusta Victoria of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg. Together they had 7 children. Later, in 1888, the kaiser died leaving Wilhelm's father at the throne. The reason for this was because Wilhelm wanted to start a course of action called the "New Course." This idea would make civil servants the chancellors instead of statesmen. In 1908, Wilhelm went on an interview for a London Newspaper company and insulted the British calling them "mad". In 1914, when Archduke Franz Ferdinand got assassinated by a Bosnian terrorist group, this is what really set things off for Kaiser Wilhelm. Since Germany was in an alliance with Austria-Hungary, they sent them a "blank cheque" in support for what attacks they might seize on Bosnia. German troops also mobilized at the border of Bosnia. When Austria-Hungarian leaders decided to give Serbia an ultimatum that if they did not fulfill would, inconsequence, start a war. So when Serbia didn't accept the demands of the ultimatum the war broke out between Austria-Hungary and Germany against Serbia and their alliances, Russia, France, and Britain.   Wilhelm said in August of 1914, "You will regret this, gentlemen"

He gave most of the work to the lead generals and let them control everything. In autumn of 1918 he realized they could not win this war. He was later forced to leave his position after months of trying to stay for as long as he could. He then moved to the Netherlands a day after his abdication. Two years later one of his sons committed suicide and his first wife died, but two years after that he got married to Hermine Russ. The Allies tried to blame the war on Wilhelm II and punish him, but the Queen of the Netherlands wouldn't let him be repatriated. In the 1930's, when Adolf Hitler rose to fame, he stated that he hated Wilhelm II and partially blamed him for the defeat of Germans in WW1. I knew that he was a Kaiser for Germany during WW1 but that was it. I learned how he helped start the war and his whole life overview and what he did for Germany in the beginning of WW1. I didn't know that he was not a good leader during the war and that he let his generals and commanders do everything and kind of just laid back and watched.
