What is a Playlist?

• A group of digital activities organized into a sequence to meet a specific learning objective

• Can be assigned to all students, several students, or individual students
• REMINDER: Playlists do not count towards usage and will not produce completion or scored data.

How do I view a Playlist?

Once you have found the Playlist you want to view, you can play the whole Playlist by selecting the view button on the right side of the Playlist card.

How do I search for a Playlist?

You may now search for Playlists using the filters on the left or the search bar. When using the search bar, it’s best to use broad search terms with quotations around the search term.

How do I see the activities that make up a Playlist?

You may view the individual activities in the Playlist by selecting the number of activities on the card, for example “3 activities,” and view each digital activity individually. Viewing the individual Digital Activities allows you to learn more about specific content in each activity that makes up the Playlist.

Step 1: Assign

Select the menu bar to the right of the playlist and choose Assign.

Step 2: Who to Assign

From the pop-up window, select the classroom of the student(s) you would like to assign the resource from the dropdown bar. Then, select the student(s) who you would like to assign the resource. To assign an entire classroom, click Select All.

Select how you would like to assign it from the following options:

Before Course: at the beginning of a student’s regular session
Stand-alone: outside of a student’s regular session

Step 3: When to Assign

Select the date that you would like the student to access the content from the following options:

Immediately
On a specific date selected from the dropdown calendar

Select the date that you would like to delete the assignment from the following options:

On student completion
On a specific date selected from the dropdown calendar

Step 4: Confirm

Confirm your choices by choosing the blue Assign button.

To unassign an activity or playlist previously selected for your student(s) or classroom:

Open the menu bar to the right of the activity or playlist.
Select Unassign. A pop-up window will appear in your browser.
Select the student(s) who you would like to unassign the resource. To unassign an entire classroom, click Select All.
Confirm your choices by clicking the blue Assign button.

Your selected student(s) or classroom will no longer be assigned the selected activity or playlist.

Step 1: Create

Choose the My Playlists view on the Resources & Activities tab. Then, select the blue Create Playlist button. You will be redirected to a new window.

Step 2: Name and Description

Add a name and description for the custom playlist.

Step 3: Add Activities

Select the + button between the Start and Stop bars to add an activity. A pop-up window will appear.

Step 4: Search and Add

Search for the activity that you would like to add to your playlist using the filters and search bar. Then, select the blue Add button when you have found the activity you would like to include in your custom playlist.

Tips and Tricks

* Activities range in time from two to five minutes. Waterford.org suggests a playlist should not exceed ten minutes and contain five or less Digital Activities.

* You can drag and drop any added activities to change their position in the playlist sequence.

* You can remove activities from the playlist by selecting the blue icon on the right side of the activity as you build your playlist. Then, you can choose Remove from Playlist.

* You can edit a custom playlist as needed later by clicking on the View Contents option from the menu bar to the right of the playlist.

Step 1: Run the Report

Run your Class or Student Area of Difficulty report from the Reports tab on your Waterford homepage.

What is the Area of Difficulty Report?

The class Area of Difficulty Report highlights skills and activities that students have encountered in the past 45 days on Waterford. Instructional strands will appear at the top of your report if you have at least one student in your class that has experienced difficulty in that instructional strand. An educator will be able to see the skill name, lesson objective, lesson name, and score. Clicking on the hyperlink of the student will take you to the individual area of difficulty report for that student. This report can be used to support small-group distance learning instruction, IEP meetings, parent conferences, and more!

Step 2: Analyze the Report

Once you have read through the report, choose which Lesson Name you would like to find/create a playlist for.

Step 3: Search for a Playlist

Copy the lesson name from the Area of Difficulty Report and paste it into the search field on the Resources and Activities tab. Make sure you have chosen the "All Playlists" filter on the left-hand side.

Step 4: Choose and Assign a Playlist

Once you have found a playlist you want to use, assign it to the appropriate student(s).
