The email also presented me with "an unusual request"- "to recommend a scholar who would be willing to give an objective peer review." I could name a few scholars I cite. But of course, I cannot know if they will be "willing" to review it. In addition, it feels rather strange to both write an article and find a reviewer for it. Accept that this is the current state of academic publishing and comply?
