This post has links to systems and tools to help me assess a student's close reading to determine how they are doing with comprehension. This is for high school students but I think it has good bones that I can adapt for lower grades. I will need this for my Virtual Gradebook Part 3 to give feedback to my students. This person had some excellent teaching points and ideas that resonated with me like "reading is a conversation and writing is a social activity... Students have to bring their insights into the text and make room for the text’s impact."

It was helpful to me as I tried to figure out how to provide feedback to students in my small groups for my Virtual Gradebook. It has a helpful chart on common "Errors" and how to correct them.
