Baking is one of my most favorite hobbies. My “specialties” are Polynesian pull apart cake, cream cheese cinnamon rolls, and candied grapes. I also started a small baking business with one of my friends over break.

Major & Minor

My major is Integrative Biology and my Minor is Forensic studies. I’m majoring in biology to get as close as possible to the lab part of forensic studies, and my main goal is to be a forensic scientist. I hope to be a forensic scientist specifically for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples because, being indigenous myself, I’d like to help Indigenous Peoples as much as I possibly can in any way I can.

Favorite Books

My favorite books are The Giver and The Tortilla Curtain. The giver is about a society where there are no memories from the past. The society is basically isolated from the real world and violent things such as war, killing, and death but is exposed to “vanilla” like behaviors and lifestyles. They are also not given freedom or choice of their own lives, which the elders of the community believe is the best way to prevent violent activities.

The tortilla curtain is about an illegal immigrant man who promises his wife, who’s pregnant, a better life in America but are given what seems like extreme disadvantages. The book also goes back and forth between the immigrant man and a rich couple whose lives are full or advantaged and fortunes. The book discusses middle class values, poverty, and immigration.
