         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Mexican american war began April 25, 1846. Zachary Taylor commanded his troops to march across Rio Grande and blockade the river. Mexicans viewed this as a violation of their rights. <br>The Mexicans responded and marched across the Rio Grande. Polk immediately sent a war message to congress saying that by shedding  "American blood upon American soil" Mexico had started the war. </div>]]></description>

That land today is considered as California, Utah and Nevada, Colorado, and Wyoming. The treaty also took advantage of the national border at Mexico at the Rio Grande.</div>]]></description>

This made the existing U.S. boundaries and native tribes of the Old Northwest, and the Indian Removal Act of 1830, This .moved most Indians from the Southeast to the states of Arkansas and Oklahoma.</div>]]></description>
