Batman is the vigilante of Gotham City, and he's usually portrayed as a lonely and broody hero. He's a fearsome hero meant to frighten criminals and act as a boogeyman from anyone who intends to harm the people of Gotham. In the universes where he is part of the Justice League, he usually keeps to himself and does not fully trust any of the other members like Superman or Wonder Woman. In fact, he has contingency plans against all of them in case they ever turn against humanity. In some universes, he has many adopted sons that work alongside him as different Robins. In spite of this. Batman is usually seen as a loneky figure who's only real partners are Jim Gordon, who doesn't know his identity, and his older butler Alfred Pennyworth, who constantly worries for him. Despite this, only he knows the full burden he carries as Gotham's hero. In Batman's own words: "I work alone."

Bruce Wayne: Prince of Gotham

Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman by a few, was orphaned at the age of eight (In most versions) after he saw his parents get murdered in front of him. Bruce grew up isolated from the world and in in pain due to the experience. He ran from Gotham and was trained by the League of Shadows, but broke ties with them after disagreeing with their ideals. He puts up a front for the Gotham people of a rich boy of low morals and intelligence, with very few people getting to see past the billionaire mask. He doesn't trust people lightly and sometimes keeps secrets to better protect them, even as he hurts himself in the process. "Nothing can bring you peace but the triumph of principles." He fights for Gotham despite his pain to help others and cleanse a dirty city, though he does not kill. He has a strict code, even if he is more aggressive than other (Usually super powered) heroes.

I'm Only Sleeping by The Beatles (Lennon-McCartney)

"Everybody seems to think I'm lazy
I don't mind, I think they're crazy
Running everywhere at such a speed
'Til they find there's no need (there's no need)"
This song was written by John Lennon in 1966, the year when the Beatles began to get involved in spiritualism and experimental drugs. Lennon and Harrison were the most interested in philosophies like transcendentalism. The next year the whole band would take up Transcendental Meditation. John Lennon was a man that searched for answers to the questions of life in many people and philosophies. He tired and tasted everything he could, from art to philosophies to music to drugs. "With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do." He and the other Beatles were always learning and changing as people, in order to mature and learn.

Napoleone di Buonaparte (1769-1821)

Or Napoleon Bonaparte after he changed his name to a French version of the Italian name. Emperor Napoleon I wrote the Code Napoleon, the most modern legislative document of Europe at the time and still used as basis for the law system of various countries today. He was a man who did not believe in class and had men from all economic and social places fighting and ruling by his side. He embraced many religions and expressed interest in foreign, non-European cultures. He spread the ideals of democracy in Europe (Though perhaps not the modern American definition of the word) against monarchies who did like to see France prosper under a man who was not of royal blood. Napoleon, a mathematician at heart, had to be conviced to become Consul of France and did not call himself Emperor until the people (The men) of France had voted it so. Despite his failure in the end, he showed the world that and European country was capable of succeeding in the world without a King. Even today, he is called the Anti Christ or so other devil. People cite the Napoleonic Wars as his great crimes, not knowing that Napoleon had war declared on him far many other times than he declared war on others. No, they are not called the Napoleonic Wars because he started them, they're called so because he won them. "To be great is to be misunderstood." And he was great. Napoleon the Great.
