Most definitely. It’s evident both fictionally and in the real world. There’s a double standard for everything. The men reciprocate Curley’s wife’s flirting but then talk about her disparagingly for it. They complain about how she just wants attention but they give her it. In the real world, white men are congratulated, admired, and idolized for treating people with respect when that’s the bare minimum. Yet no matter how respectful they are if a woman or person or color sets a boundary or doesn’t act overly nice they’re seen as rude and aggressive. (Frankie)

I think that POC and Women but more specifically Women of color are held to much higher standards than white men because they are often looked at as less than, or less capable simply for not only being women but also non-white. Women are usually expected to do what a white man is expected and more to get even a fraction of what a man can get any day. But then looking when it comes to POC they are often expected the same things and given nothing at all in return. I personally do believe that even as if you are a man Of color you are giving more options and opportunities due to our patriarchal society but that also does not and should not diminish the racism they face. Now women of color do not only have the odds of racism against them but also misogyny and all of the stereotypes that come with it. For instance a lot of WOC and more specifically asian and black women will be over-sexualized and fetishized in society and often be told no matter what they do they are not professional or fit enough for certain things in society.
