Masked VS. Unveiled

Who are you? Are you willing to finally come out of hiding? The time has come to expose the real you. People start to have a double image of who you are, and soon you find yourself caught in the middle between the two. Which role will you play? The masked side, where you put out an image of what you want the world to perceive you as. Or when you are unveiled, not hiding behind the mask that gripped your true identity, letting the world know who you truly are inside and out. It has become a challenge for people of this generation to display who they really are, leading us in a time period of where it seems like everyone is dealing with some type of identity crises. There is a very fine line between the real you, and the altered side. May you finally be defined, and exhibit yourself for the world to see. Eminem proposed the question “will the real slim shady, please stand up?”, but I propose a new one “will the real you, finally stand up?”

I go to Saint Leo University and my best friend, Jillian, goes to University of Central Florida. The other day we were talking about our schools and realized the similarities and differences whether good or bad. We both love our Universities but there are some traits about each other’s schools that we would want our own school to have. Revealing everything about our schools made us realize why we chose the schools that we did, our personalities made us choose completely opposite schools. It was difficult to find similarities, that’s how unique they were from one another.

Have you ever heard of the saying, “I love you, but I’m not in love with you”? This phrase is most commonly used in defense of relationships. In reality, who has ever really broken down the saying to truly understand the similarities and contrasts. In a brief breakdown, the line is split between loving and being in love. Characteristics or themes used to describe these opposing ideas include; the well-being of another, longevity of passion, and lacking in attraction.
