My mom would work part time (as a psychologist) but I spent a lot of time with her and my sister, who is only one year older than me. My grandfather and aunt live in Michigan, and we usually visit them twice a year. Although we see them as much as we can, I am not very connected to my Asian heritage. I hope to further connect throughout my life, and better understand a culture that technically is half of who I am. 
My dad's side of the family is European, mostly Irish. We also visit them about once a year in Western New York. Since I was raised in the U.S., I more identify with the American culture, yet sometimes I wish I didn't. Music and theater have been in my life for as long as I can remember, and I am grateful to have developed friendships and connections through those interests. However, my family has struggled a bit with money, and we usually have to save and invest our money. We don't go on fancy trips usually and we don't own property or things like that.
