Whenever I teach students new material I teach them based on their preferred activities. For instance, I would rather teach to dance then do some gruesome exercise that is not fun, or I'll teach them how to analyze lyrical raps that are released and see what they mean rather than reading poems from centuries ago. I invest my time and energy to think and become one of my students so I know what they desire most and how to teach them best. Sometimes becoming indistinguishable from your students isn’t so bad. The one area I could potentially have maximum growth in would be, “Engage in professional growth and leadership”, and sometimes being indistinguishable from your students is unprofessional. However, I believe that my achieved goals and objectives set for my students learning and development are much more important than the stereotypical view of others.
