In this recreation, I simply posed in front of a mirror and wore a white blanket around my waist. The pink pants and red leg band on my chair were intended to look like the stripes of the couch in the painting.

BEHIND THE SCENES: For this recreation of the artwork, it was not as complicated. I simply mimicked the pose of the woman in the painting and held the cat a similar way she held the wolf.

BEHIND THE SCENES: For this recreation, there was a little more involved. I used paintbrushes, an easel, various articles of clothing, a chair, and a book to drape my grey sweatshirt on (to look similar to the canvas in the painting). I tied red pants around my waist and draped white clothing around my neck and my head to appear like the woman in the painting. Then, I posed like she did, holding the brushes in my hand and looking at the camera.

BEHIND THE SCENES: For this image, I used a tea strainer, two can openers, and my mom's lipstick. I placed two can openers on the counter, the tea strainer upside down on top, then placed the opened lipstick on top.

BEHIND THE SCENES: For my recreation, I used a pair of pink sweatpants, a red workout band, a white blanket, a mirror, and my chair. I used these materials to resemble the couch that the woman in the painting is sitting on and the towel she is wearing around her waist.

BEHIND THE SCENES: This was the simplest out of all to recreate. I took the corn cob from our mantelpiece and wrapped leaves from a plant in our backyard around it. In order to secure the leaves, I used tape.

I chose this work to recreate because of its message and simplicity. The work displays a relationship between a wolf and a woman, which I thought I could recreate by posing with a cat or some kind of stuffed animal. The artwork itself is promoting feminism and empowerment, which are good values to try to recreate.

I chose this work specifically because I really liked the lightheartedness and confidence the painting portrays, in addition to the way the women is dressed and posed. I thought that it would be a very good artwork to try to recreate because I myself like to create art, therefore I thought it was very fitting to dress up as Le Brun. Also, I had the materials and props to mimic the artwork, such as the brushes and the easel, which made it easier to copy.

I chose this work to recreate because I liked the pastel colors of the painting and the daily life it portrays. In the painting, a woman is doing her hair in front of a mirror. Similarly, I do my hair in my mirror in my room every day, which I thought connected to the life of the woman in the painting.

I chose this work because the malachite corn cob on our mantelpiece was originally from South America, just like the maize cobs made from metal in the artwork. I thought that using the malachite maize to recreate an artwork from the same geographic area would be very fitting.
