Option 4

I will be researching the career of a paralegal as well as a criminal law defense attorney, I have background knowledge in the two of the careers. A paralegals primary job is to assist lawyers in a firm by interviewing clients as well at witnesses. The defense attorney's job is to defend those sued by the state in a criminal case, as well as to prepare arguments and sometimes settle cases with prosecutors.

To be a paralegal you need at minimum an associates degree with a legal major. Paralegals mostly function as secretaries so minimal education is required. Lawyers require a professional degree which is about 7 years of higher education at a minimum.

To be a paralegal you need to be able to interview witnesses and clients as well as supply information about the firm. As a lawyer you need public speaking skills as well as very good interpersonal and argumentative skills.

Paralegal is an old field with a very slow expansion rate at 8%, whilst the job of lawyer is growing at 6% per 10 years according to a 2014 study. This rate is extremely slow for both fields but the job is very specialized for both so the slow expansion is expected.

The median pay for paralegals is 48,810 per year with 23.47 dollars per hour. This is an extremely good pay result for the amount of school required to enter the field. A lawyers median pay is 115,820 annually or, 55.69 per hour. This is due to the extremely high schooling requirement.

Most lawyers and paralegals are not in a union. Most of the union or professional involvement with lawyers is when unions have lawyers represent their organization.

Pros are, extremely high pay, very high gratification, feelings of fulfillment, and cons are, some feelings of guilt, and the very high cost of schooling for lawyers.

Option 4 “I’m in search of a job”

1. Name occupation or career
My occupation will be a Pediatric Surgeon, because it’s a job that I will like to pursue when I’m older. The reason I decided to be a Pediatric Surgeon is because I really like being around kids and I knew that I wanted to work by them. When I knew that I wanted to go to the medical field, I really didn’t want to work with the geriatric age group or adults. I knew that if I combined both of my passions it would be a good decision to become a Pediatric Surgeon.

2. Level of education/license/certificate needed to perform the job.
The requirements for this job is that you will need earn a Bachelor's Degree, and those who want to go to medical school must complete a bachelors degree. Then you will need a medical degree and complete a residency and fellowship. Get a license and become board certified.

3. List of skills needed to perform the job
The skills that you will need for this job is effective communication because it’s important that you know how to talk to patients and communicate with your coworkers. Patience is another skill you need because it’s important to not be rushed during a surgery. Also being organized is something a surgeon will need to be because if you don’t organize your work or follow up in your work, you can lose stuff, not be on time and potentially do something wrong.

4. This field is is pretty new because it started around the 1930. It’s a field that has majorly increased by having multiple people join the pediatric community. I would consider this new because medicine was first starting way back around 300 BC.

5.Current starting wages in the field and potential for growth
A Pediatric Surgeons salary is around $400,00 to $524,030. They work over 57 hours per week and 45 weeks per year. The average hourly rate ranges from $168 to $261 with the average hourly pay of $208.

6.Professional organizations/Unions associated with the job
There’s this plenty of organizations that are with this job, but APSA ( American Pediatric Surgical Association) is one of them. And what this organization does is that they encourage discovery, innovation and improvement in care. Also develop and advocating standards of care for infants and children by influencing public policy around the surgical care of children.

7.What are the pros and cons of working in this field?
A pro on working in the Pediatric field is they work with patients 21 and younger. They also
treat and offer preventative guidance on childhood illness. A con is that you must keep a certain profile while working with these patients, because since they are children it’s hard not to feel for them when they are really sick or pass away.

They are most popular for their shoes, but they also produce clothing and athletic apparel.

Nike is a monopolistic company because it is one out of many companies in the same field. Their products have little variation from other companies such as Adidas and Under Armour. They can not change the prices of their products too much because their customers will move on to other companies that sell products that are similar.

Nike has 1182 branches open throughout the entire world. It operates in 45 different countries such as the United States, Spain, and India. In 2018 there were 74,400 employees working for Nike. This company currently has 1,273,067,000 shareholders.

Option 1: “I am an Entrepreneur”

1. It will be a beauty/nail salon. Which means that it will provide manicure and pedicure, As well as hair cuts. The idea of having this business is to save gas and money for the clients. Because instead of driving into one place to get your hair done and going to another to get your nails done. Why not just save the hassle and get it done in one place? This business will be named “Perfect You” to make women and others feel confident when they come out of the salon.
2. In order to start this business you will need a license and a permit. Since I don’t have a partner to make this business it will be unnecessary for me to get a partner agreement. However it is needed to have a certificate of registration which has all the info of my shop. Once the application has been approved I will be able to get my license and start my business.
3. Anyone can start their business without a degree. However having good marketing, managerial, and accounting skills may help you in these types of business. I truly believe that having an accounting skill can be very important because money is a big aspect of a business. Keeping track of how much profit was gained/lost can be very beneficial because that’s where you are able to make good deals with customers.
4. On the side I will be making sure everything is flowing the way that it should be. I will be very hands on and in case of emergencies, (major/minor) I will be there to handle it. I will also be working with negotiations to buy the products needed for a reasonable price. If I ever wanted to expand my business it all falls to me making the decision that will benefit my salon.
5. Since I want to have a really successful business. I will need to take a lot of things into consideration. Location is a major part of a business. In certain areas they are able to increase their prices compared to other areas. For example, I would consider opening a business in Oakbrook in view of the fact that it is close to the mall therefore it is guaranteed that a lot of people will see my store and moreover, the location I chose allows me to charge a good amount of money, compared to places like Aurora, who’s charging prices are a lot cheaper. However, taxes do play a role when it comes to the location of the business.
6. For this business it is necessary to hire employees. Luckily I have several connections when it comes to hair and nails. My family has had a hair business. When they had to fire some workers who I am still in contact with, I am sure that they will be willing to work for me. If they won’t be able to they can still recommend people for me. And in order to grab my attention they will need to have a great personality. They cannot be clumsy nor can they be sassy. Enthusiasm and great work is what drives customers into coming back. In addition, these employees need to have their cosmetology license as well as their manicurist license because without it they cannot provide services for others. Also without it, the shop will be in risk of failure.

Trends in the job fields. Education and licensing needed to work. The skills and pros and cons of each. Organizations and unions within each occupation. With both jobs being service jobs theirs a large expansion of workers in the these jobs due to robots taking the manufacturing labor jobs. These jobs are very interesting to research and see how service jobs are and how they differ and will grow compared to traditional jobs.

They also treat and offer preventative guidance on childhood illness. A con is that you must keep a certain profile while working with these patients, because since they are children it’s hard not to feel for them when they are really sick or pass away.

I am looking forward to meeting a lot of children and how I could help them get better in life. I choose to be a math teacher because I love math and wanted to do something with math, also I choose to be a soccer coach because I have been playing soccer since I was a little kid.
2 In my first job which is a math teacher I would need to have a bachelors and master’s degree. Also I would need to have student teaching experience with kids. In my other job which is a soccer coach I need to have a bachelor degree for in physical education or other things related to soccer.

3 Some skills I have to have and show the kids for a soccer coach is have good social skills like discipline, patience, determination, and teamwork. I have to be a role model for them also some basic skills of soccer. For my math teaching job I would need my bachelors degree in mathematics I would also need strong knowledge about the basics of math and communicate with students.

4 I say it is expanding because everything is related to money now in days and everyone need to know at least the basics of math. I feel like it is expanding because one time or another we are going to need to know basics of math. For the soccer coach job it is famous because they have the World Cup, champion league and other things and they are expanding from continent to continent.

5 For being a math teacher in middle school the salary would be from $59,800 in the year 2016. I could get more pay if I went up to a higher level like high school or college I would get payed more. For my soccer coaching career I would be getting $40,000 national average salary I would go up because I am only teaching kids I could coach adults.

6 In my coaching job their is a lot of clubs and teams that kids or adults could join a big one from here in Illinois is Illinois youth soccer coaching education. In the math teacher carrier their is a lot of different places would be Mathematical Association of America, Association of Teachers of Mathematics. These are some important organizations for making me better in both of my jobs.

7 A bad throng for both is that teaching is not an easy carrier, a good thing is that both have a long break during the winter season. For both it is a couple thousand dollars for the income of both teaching math and coaching. For both of the jobs I would become a role model for teaching math and a leader in coaching soccer.

I will only need two because one person needs to be at the cash register and the other person will restock candy.

For qualifications I would look for an employee that is hard working and knows how to stock and work a cash register.

For personality and attitude I will hire a person who is nice and good with customers and make sure customers enjoyed their visit and will come back soon.
