A sua descoberta revolucionou a ciência. <br>São utilizadas para o estudo da biologia humana e consideradas uma ferramenta indispensável até os dias de hoje. Sua aplicação possibilitou a pesquisa sobre a natureza de diversos tipos de câncer, o desenvolvimento de vacinas, o mapeamento de genes, o tratamento de doenças e os mecanismos envolvidos por trás delas. As células HeLa também foram fundamentais no estudo da tuberculose, do HIV e do Papilomavírus humano (HPV).</div><div>Sua importância é devido o desenvolvimento de novos medicamentos sem que seja arriscada a vida de pacientes. Entendendo como a doença se desenvolve e como afeta as células.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
