According to Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan, police were notified on September 30 after a Bangladeshi man reported that his 39-year-old nephew had been unreachable since September 25.

Investigations showed that the mother of the victim in Bangladesh received a call requesting 500,000 Bangladeshi Taka (RM24,000) to free her son.

He stated in a statement on Friday that "the woman paid a quantity of money to the suspects' bank account in Bangladesh on September 27 and the suspects promised to release the victim in two days" (Oct 7).

He claimed that when the mom didn't hear from her kid until September 30, she requested her older brother to contact the police.

We detained two Bangladeshi guys near Beranang on October 5 at around 4 p.m., according to information.

The following day between 3.30 and 4.10 p.m. at Semenyih, we also detained two more Bangladeshi men as part of a follow-up operation, he added.

He claimed that after questioning the suspects, authorities were directed to Jalan Taming Jaya 10 in the Seri Kembangan Industrial Park.

"The victim's body was discovered by police in the nearby bushes.

He added that the body was sent to the Serdang Hospital for a postmortem and that the victim's wrists and face were wrapped with cellophane tape and a sarong.

The case, he claimed, had been labelled as a murder.
