But another question might be whether that's even the goal of AI: is it to represent reality, or to create art? Or something else entirely. I mean, art doesn't always represent reality--Picasso or Pollock certainly didn't take that route--and while I don't like the idea of a non-human program being hailed as a genius of artistry any more than the next person, can we really blame AI for producing 'problematic art' when it's us who are responsible for producing the 'problematic stuff' it's trained on?
