As both states have different perspectives but the Israeli Defense Force states that "The security fence serves one purpose and one purpose only: to prevent terrorists from carrying out deadly attacks on Israeli civilians. Since the construction of the fence began, there has been a significant decrease in the number of attacks originating in Judea and Samaria. Suicide attacks have decreased by 100%. Shooting attacks have decreased by 93.5%." The IDF's perspective is that the wall is protecting their states from being attacked and is not going to take them down

As most Israelis support the checkpoints Palestinians don't like the checkpoints as the Palestine Liberation Organization Negotiation Affairs Department stated in 2014 that "The Annexation Wall is the most visible element of Israel's occupation and control over the land and people of Palestine. Behind it, and indeed all around it, lie a series of equally ugly policies and practices designed to colonize and annex as much land as possible." The PLONAD do not like the idea of checkpoints and believe that the wall should be dismantled and Israelis should not occupy and control their land.

As some Israelis have a hard line perspective others have a flexible perspective, Danny Tirza stated that "The fence has created a conceptual and physical barrier between two neighboring peoples who have been entangled in conflict for a century but still hope to live in peace. I would have gladly done without the fence." Danny would not have cared if they did not build a wall and he also hopes to live side by side in peace.

Palestinians also have a flexible perspective about the situation with checkpoints as Peter Maurer states that "The ICRC certainly recognizes the Israeli government's need to ensure the security of its own population and territory. This is an inalienable right of any state, though with the understanding that any measures to ensure national security must remain in accordance with the rules and procedures prescribed by international law. the Barrier cannot be justified as a security measure, consolidating and perpetuating as it does the illegal presence of settlements. Its cumulative effects have led to consequences of a magnitude and gravity well out of proportion with what may be the legitimate security concerns of Israel." Peter understands that they are trying to protect their states but he believes that they have taken it too far and have affected Palestinians

One of the physical characteristics of the land that Palestinians and Israelis are fighting over is its water resources, but "since Israel took over the West Bank in 1967, Israel has remained in near full control over Palestinian water resources in the West Bank. Israel fully prevents Palestinians from accessing the Jordan River and using its water. As for the Mountain Aquifer, the 1995 Oslo ll interim agreement- which also defined the water-sharing arrangements between Palestine and Israel - came to consolidate the Israeli control that had been in place since 1967." Israelis have taken over the most important physical characteristic for the Palestinians, water as they have now depended on Israel to get water.

One human characteristic in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is religion. In the West Bank 80-85% of people are Muslim, 12-14% are Jewish, and 1-2.5% of people are Christian. A majority of people in the West Bank are Muslim (Palestinians) and there are not many Jews (Israelis). In the Gaza Strip there are 98-99% Muslims and 1% of Christians. In the Gaza strip there are no Jews and is populated with mostly Muslims.

The Two-State Solution

I believe that the Two-State solution is not a good solution and they should make a better solution because it restricts Palestinians from having access to water and also restricting Palestinians movement. Palestinians have become dependent on water after Israel "laid hands on Palestinian water resources through discriminatory water-sharing agreements that prevented Palestinians from maintaining or developing their water infrastructure through its illegal planning and permit regime. As a result, thousands of Palestinians are unable to access sufficient water supplies and became water-dependent on Israel." Since the Two-State solution Palestinians have relied on water and now are deprived of it. The Two-State solution restricts movement because Israel is making more and more settlement as settlements before were "small encampments or temporary housing, and many have started that way. But they now include large subdivisions, even sizable cities, with manicured lawns and streets full of middle-class villas often set on arid hilltops. Israel is constantly building new homes and offers financial incentives for Israelis to live in the West Bank." This restricts Palestinian movement because Israelis are making territory in an Arab state and is another reason why the Two state solution is not good because Israelis are taking over Palestinian states. In conclusion the Two-State solution was not a good solution to their problems being solved and they should make a new solution that both Israelis and Palestinians agree on.
