Hello teacher, my name is Darla Moreira, I am in the third year of bachillerato at the Julio Pierregrosse school and today I would like to talk to you about my painting for the ECA subject project.
The teacher told us that we should choose an animal or, in his case, a Pokémon, and then do it on the canvas using the rosanes thechnique, so the figure that I decided to paint on my canvas is a mew. Mew is one of the fictional species from the Pokémon franchise. It is a small, pink, it was added to Pokémon with the intent of making it obtainable, but was ultimately left out for technical reasons. At first I was not very convinced cause pink is not my favorite color and it is not a color that I always use but in the end I was happy with the result.
I decided to choose this Pokémon because it was one of the ones that had not been chosen yet and in my opinion one of the simplest and most adorable to make.
I started by drawing the pokemon on the canvas creating a sketch, To make use of the technique indicated by the teacher, draw geometric figures at the end of the draw, then I covered it with tape to avoid staining the draw with paint.
For the background I decided to use a color that contrasts with the pink and what could be better than sky blue, so I started mixing blue and white paint until I found the shade.
Around the mew I decided to use a little white paint and with a sponge smudge it to give it a shadow and make it not look so simple. but when it dried it became a little dull because I didn't use enough paint.
A few days after I painted the background and it had dried I started to paint the Pokemon, mixing red and white with a little blue. In this process I got a little frustrated because the color came out very dark but then I used it for the figures in the tail.
I used a purple and pink palette for the figures on the tail and I think this was most difficult for me cause I wanted it to be colorful and not simple but in the end I was happy with the result. To finish, I put a marker around the draw.
I would like to mention that the techniques I used outside of the Rosanes animals were acrylic, my painting is painted only with acrylic paint.

A curious fact is that unlike other canvases I have painted, I liked this one more. The use of paper tape around the drawing helped me a lot to avoid staining and then leaving another tone of paint on top, it surprised me.

To conclude I would like to say that using this painting technique allowed me to get my creativity out a little more and explore new things. Thank you for the attention.
