     First major land battle in the CIvil War and was a definite loss for the North, both bolstering the South and Shocking the North.
-Lincoln's order
     Originally Lincoln sent general Irvin McDowell after the attack on Fort Sumter to put down the South Insurgence at the river of Bull Run
-Lincoln's foolishness
     After McDowell had told Lincoln that his men were not prepared Lincoln sent them anyway
-The Battle's beginning
     At the beginning of the battle there was a struggle between the Union and confederate forces which eventually shifted in favor of the Union until poor coordination and Confederate reinforcements had arrived
-Rebel yell
     With the Confederate's now gaining ground they launched a counterattack in which they yelled and broke the Northern lines sending the North in a hasty retreat

     The North had a multitude of people that for outweighed and outnumbered those in the South (even though the army sizes at the beginning of the war were relatively the same)

     The North had on its side the industrialization of many generations that made it a superpower that could output the majority of supplies of war and supply their soldiers way easier
-The South
-Military prowess 
    Had the majority of the military colleges in the country allowing for more experienced and better generals in the war
-Fighting on their own territory
     The South were essentially fighting the war on their own terms and in the territory that they knew

     With all the new inventions that could speed information from the battlefield directly to the people, the people could listen in on just exactly how the war and certain battles were progressing

-Can not survive divided
     The entirety of the "house" would not and could not continue to strive if they stayed divided and would instead all eventually morph into one glob of either pro-free or pro-slave

     Even though they both knew that they would be in opposition of each both Hunt and Bragg told each other they should follow their conscience, even through the conflict they both held no resentment for each other and hoped that eventually the two sides would be rejoined
-The meaning of the war
    The question of why there even has to be a war was raised quite often due to the fact that there seems to be more than enough room for everybody to thrive together and without the loss of all the life that could be preserved
