Main Topics: The article introduces topics of challenge, transition between school and college, and the employment status of women vs men after college. This article describes the struggles students have to face during the great recession as well as how they can cope with it.

how author collected the information/data This data and information was collected through interviewing and asking local students in Michigan about the topics of interest in this essay. As well as that, there was a survey done by sending an email to about 41,000 students 8-10 months after graduation. The topics in the survey included employment, location of residence, reasons for leaving or staying in their hometown and income

5. Findings

When the results came back 63% of respondents were found to be full-time employed and 1- fifth were found to be employed part-time. 17% of respondents were unemployed. Not surprisingly 51% of graduated confirmed the biggest challenge was finding a job after graduation. The main replies were: ''Finding a job. ANY job.'' ''Trying to find a job and failing.'' ''Finding any type of paid work (let alone in my field).'' ''I am not qualified for anything.''

Even ones who did find jobs faced difficulties and some even experiencing layoffs after 3 months. It is undeniable that the job market is tough especially for newly graduated individuals. Moreover, as that this article stated that during college many students struggled to keep a work-life balance, students were giving up their free/social time to complete their assignments.

How I relate to this article: I Find this article very relatable as it discusses very real topics that students such as challenges. This one is particularly relatable to me as it goes over how many students struggle to keep up with college work and rarely have time for hobbies. This can drive many students into a state of burnout or even depression in some cases. Additionally, This article discusses the difficulties of finding jobs during or after college which I relate too. This essay points out the real struggles that students have to face in todays world and doesn't sugar-coat the topics of issue which I quite enjoyed.
