Tom"s "senseless slaughter" was a devastating moment yet they could've handled it differently than killing him. In the text its states "He guided his arm to the bible and his rubber-like left..."(Lee 254). This is one example to show that he he was an innocent person and a good man.

Tom's death is a "senseless slaughter" because eventually, Atticus would of been able to prove that he's not guilty of Ms. Mayella framing him of raping her. In Chapter 19, Mr. Atticus said, "And so quiet, respectable, humble negro who had the unmitigated temerity to 'feel sorry' for a white woman has had to put his word against two white people's(Lee 273). This matters to why Tom's death is a 'senseless slaughter', because it shows that his character as a human being doesn't prove to what Ms. Mayella has framed him for.

Tom Robinson's death was senseless, because he was shot 17 times. His death was being compared to something innocent and harmless, and doesn't deserve to be punished or hurt in any way. “I guess Tom was tired of a white man’s chances and preferred to take on his own.”(Lee 215)

Tom's death is a "senseless slaughter" because even though Atticus did everything he could to help Tom, it didn't work. Atticus did find out that Tom was not guilty but instead was framed but Tom has no influence, he can't do anything against a white man. In Chapter 19, Tom says, "Yes, suh. I felt right sorry for her, she seemed to try more’n the rest of ‘em—" (Lee 201) After everything Atticus said and helped with, this quote gave a little sense of giving up.

Toms death was a sensleess slaughter because they went through that whole trial just for him to be killed, in which trials are the way you handle situations that could change someones life but instead someone killed him.

Toms death is a senseless slaughter because Atticus did find out that he was not guilty and was framed. But Tom believed that even though he was proven to be not guilty his word over a white man would lose. He was also shot 17 times which is more than enough to kill someone. In chapter 19 Tom says

Tom's death is a "senseless slaughter" even if you tried your hardest like Atticus, you wouldn't be able to prove his innocent. Tom went through a trial to prove himself as an innocent man, just to be shot 17 times.

Tom's death was senseless slaughter. Throughout the chapters about the trail it talked about how there was so much evidence to prove that Tom was innocent but they still gave him a guilty verdict. In chapter 24 it said that he got shot 17 times. If a person is shot more than 2 times they are very injured and can't move or do anything. They shot Tom and just kept shooting him. After the 2nd shot was fired they should've stopped.
