Sports Hero - Sis bates

Sis Bates is my favorite athlete of all time. She was a shortstop for the University of Washington and graduated in 2020. She is an inspiration to me because of how incredible of a player she is. She is extremely talented, athletic, and always looks like she is having fun while she plays. She is now a softball player for the Athletes Unlimited professional softball league.

Great Coach - Coach Hutch

Carol "Hutch" Hutchins was a coach at the University of Michigan for almost 40 years. She is an inspiration to me because of her passion for the game, love for her team, and drive to better sports overall. She never had a losing season at UofM. In addition, she won a WCWS in 2005. She also earned 18 Coach of the Year awards.

Bad Example - Bryce Harper

Bryce Harper is a first baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies. He is extremely talented, and has continuously proven to be a great baseball player. However, he is not a good influence on young players. He often over-celebrates, and has a very bad attitude. He complains often, and argue with officials, players, teammates, and coaches, which sets a bad precedent.

Incredible Coach - Becky Hilgert

I met Coach Hilgert around 2 years ago at a Blue Chip softball camp. I'm interesting in Calvin as a potential college choice, so I made sure to take some internal notes about her. She coached my team at the camp and was absolutely wonderful. She shows great passion and love for the game of softball, and is always encouraging her players. She is fun to be around, and has the drive for success that makes a truly great coach.

Favorite Team - Krash 2023 Summer

My favorite team I've ever played with was my travel softball team from last summer. This group of girls was extremely talented, and very fun to play with. Some of them continue to be my best friends, and I absolutely love each and every one of them. We always supported each other, and had a blast all summer. I wish I could play with all of them again because it truly was a great experience.
