<title>P. 25- We are reminded AGAIN of how important &quot;the why&quot; is in the author&#39;s paragraph about pedagogy (the how and the why). &quot;without pedagogy, there is only theory on how to respond to students&#39; cultural and linguistic needs, and theory alone does not adequately serves teachers and students.&quot;</title>

<title>We need to &#39;earn the right&#39; to go lower into the Iceberg with students. (pg. 41- Iceberg Concept of Culture) Relationship building is so essential. If you try to jump too quickly into the shallow or deep culture, students might not trust you. As a relationship deepens and progresses, it&#39;s important to try to go to those levels below the water or you will not understand true culture. </title>
