Course Reviewers at Yuba College conduct peer review of courses to determine if all criteria in the rubric are either aligned or exemplary; if so, the course is "validated." If any criteria are noted as incomplete, reviewers provide specific feedback to help guide revisions.

Open Educational Resources (OER) and Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) resources

It makes a huge impact when students have low or zero cost textbooks on Day 1 of a course. This post links to another Padlet board with more information and a set of resources to explore. One resource, the ASCCC collections by discipline, can be a good place to look for adoptable Canvas shells that include OER. Many of these shells follow good design principles in line with the CVC-OER Rubric criteria.

State and federal regulations refer to the need for "regular and substantive interactions" (RSI) in online courses (to distinguish them from correspondence courses). The specific guidelines were updated in 2022 and replace the prior language of "regular and effective contact."
