A group of people called the Puritans who practiced Calvinism traveled to new land and set up in Salem. In Salem witch craft was associated with the devil and was a sin. During the Salem Witch Trials a group of young girls accused people around the village of witchcraft. If someone was accused of witchcraft they were put through test to see if they were a witch one being if a pure element like water resists them.
