Legislative Power

In the legislative branch, there will be two chambers: the House of Representatives and the Senate. In the House of Representatives, the amount of representatives is based on population. In the Senate, the number of representatives will be two per state.

Executive Branch

The executive branch includes the president, vice president, office of the president, and the cabinet. Some of their powers include vetoing and implement/enforcing laws. The president is the leader of the executive branch and the country.

Judicial Power

The Judicial branch is made up of courts and judges. The federal judges are appointed by the president and confirmed by the senate. Everyone has a right to a fair trial and everyone is given a lawyer. The jury then decides if the accused is guilty or not after their plea.

States Power & Limits

Some of the powers of the states include making their own laws, taking car of law enforcements, and taxing. Some of the limits of the states are they must respect the laws of other states and must have a republican government. The states can also call escaped criminals back to their state to hold a trial for them there.

Amending the Constitution

People have the power to change laws on the Constitution, also called amendments. The duty of the people is to make the country stronger. There are only two steps to amend the Constitution: first you need two thirds of congress to agree, then you need three fourths of the states to agree.

Federal Law

Federal law is the most powerful kind of law because it overrides state law. All of the other laws are in the hands of the states/people. They are passed by the president, by congress, or by federal courts.

Rights of the People

People have the rights to practice religion, bear arms, and right to no unreasonable searches. More of the rights that people have are right to not testify in court and right to a jury by peers. Finally, people have the rights to fair punishment and life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Requirements to be president

The president serves 4 year terms and each person can serve two terms. The president must be 35 years old and born in the USA. The president also have to have to have lived in the USA for at least 14 years.

Legislative Power part 2

In the House of Representatives new representatives will be elected every 6 years. In the senate, representatives will be elected every 2 years. Some of their powers include passing laws, setting a budget for government, and declaring war.

Judicial Power Part 2

Federal judges serve for life and can only be removed by death or impeachment by congress. The courts don’t make or propose laws, they interpret laws. The most powerful court in the country will be the Supreme Court, who only review the most important cases. There is no specific amount of stated judges in the Supreme Court.
