Moana is just an ordinary girl who loves the oceans. She visits it often to play in the water and collect shells. However, her father does not like it when she is in the ocean. When he sees her he brings her back to the main part of the island.

Call To Adventure

While young Moana is playing in the water, it suddenly starts to pull back and allows her to walk out into the ocean. She is collecting shells when she sees something glowing green in the water. She picks it up and looks at it.

Refusal Of The Call

Her dad finds her at the ocean while she has the heart. She drops it, and it is pulled back into the deep water by the ocean. She doesn't see it for years and starts to think it was a dream.

Crossing The Threshold

Moana's grandmother gets very sick. On her death bed, she reveals to Moana that it was not a dream and that the ocean did choose her. Now she needs to set out onto an adventure to put the heart back. She then gives her a necklace which is holding the heart of Te Fiti. Moana now sets off on her adventure in a boat.

Meeting The Mentor

After a big storm, Moana washes up onto the shore of an island. It is here where she meets Maui. Maui teaches her how to sail, and is going to help her put the heart back where it came from.

Allies, Trials, And Enemies

Moana, Maui, and Hay-hay the chicken are all on the boat together. Moana and Maui meet many enemies along their journey. The Kakamora and Tamatoa both want to steal the heart of Te Fiti for themselves. They try to hurt Maui and Moana so that they can get the heart. Te Fiti herself also tries to hurt them when they go to return the heart.

Approach To The Inmost Cave

When Maui and Moana finally find the island of Te Fiti, they realize that she has turned evil due to not having a heart anymore. They still plan on returning it, but now the journey is a lot more of a challenge.

The Supreme Ordeal

Te Kā (The evil form of Te Fiti without her heart) is now attacking Moana and Maui whenever they get close to her. She strikes Maui and almost breaks his hook. Maui then leaves because he doesn't want to loose his powers leaving Moana to fight on her own. This is dangerous because Moana is only human and has very little experience.

Reward

After the heart of Te Fiti is returned, She gives both Moana and Maui a gift. Maui is gifted a new hook to replace the broken one, and Moana is gifted a new canoe to get home.

The Road Back

After her adventure, Moana sets sail back home. She is happy that she was able to save her island, and she is ready to see her family again.

Resurrection

Te Fiti is very happy to have her heart back. She thanks Moana and Maui and everyone is happy in the end.

Return With A Prize

Moana returns home safe, and she becomes Chief of her people. Her and her people also start sailing again. They overcame their fears of the ocean and everyone is happy.
