Mrs. Z recommended this book to the class before summer break and I thought it was the best fit for me, I am a slow reader, and this book fits my style of reading. Every moment in the book was well described and explained, which made me feel like I was part of the book. I liked how this book had action and had some suspense to it as well.

"Heavy Hitters" was a book that I enjoyed because it was a baseball book that I was able to connect to everything that happens in the book. This book was about a kid named Ben who was hit by a pitch for the first and worked out of his slump with his teammate, Justin, who was going through problems after his parents divorced.

The Walking Dead TV show is one of my favorite programs of all time. This comic was free on the Itunes store so I decided to download it, and I really enjoyed it. I liked how accurate it was with the show, which was based off of the comic.

This book was my fifth book that I completed and I read this because I didn't want to read a hundred page book in a couple days. But I've always enjoyed reading this series and I thought that it is a good book to read every once in a while. It is about a Middle Schooler named Greg who just lost his best friend and is now trying to get over it.

A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Miserable Mill

"The Miserable Mill", is the fourth book to the Series of Unfortunate Events. It was about three orphans, Sunny, Klaus, and Violet Baudelaire, who are forced to take a train to the Lucky Smells Lumber Mill, which was as dull as can be. There was no sign on the building, instead the Mill's name was stuck on a wall with letters made of gum. Foreman Flacutono, the mean boss of the mill, tripped Klaus one day and had to go to the eye doctor. Unfortunately, the eye doctor's office resembled an eye, which was the symbol of Count Olaf, a man who was trying to steal the Baudelaire Fortune. Dr. Orwell, the eye doctor, was a hypnotist who hypnotized Klaus to do whatever Foreman Flacutono demands when he says, "lucky". In the end, Count Olaf, or Shirley, was caught trying to create an accident that would force Sir to hand the Baudelaires over to him/her. Unfortunately, Count Olaf and Foreman Flacutono got away and the Baudelaires were left at "peace" again.

My Brother Sam is Dead

"My Brother Sam is Dead" is a book about a boy named Tim, Sam, Father, and Mother, who live in Redding during the Revolutionary War. Sam tries to persuade his Father to let him join the Continental Army, but his Father says no because it is an act of treason. Father is a Tory, also known as a Loyalist. Eventually, Sam would run off with Father's Brown Bess rifle and would visit home every once in a while. But one day, while Tim and Father were out delivering cattle in a wild snowstorm, Father disappeared and Tim couldn't see him anywhere through the specks of snowflakes. A year later, he would find out that Father was captured by Cowboys, who are people who steal cattle, and was put into a prison ship where he died of Cholera. During one of Sam's visits, some Cowboys attempted to steal some of their family's cattle and framed Sam for doing it. About 2 days later, he was executed for theft right in front of Sam and other citizens.
