         <description><![CDATA[<p>I went swimming with my family yesterday. Ever since COVID, I’ve noticed that I get out of breath more easily, so I've been trying out different aerobic exercises that can help to improve heart and lung function. Moreover, being underwater clears my mind of any stress or anxiety that I have and brings my focus to the present moment. In addition, seeing the incredible view of the ocean, the sky, and the mountains in-front of us made me feel small in a good way, as if all my worries don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I made a smoothie bowl with frozen strawberries, blueberries, banana, milk, spinach and chia seeds. I really like smoothies and it's a good way to make something nutritious and tasty quickly. I made this one a little more extra than usual since I have more time. I try to make smoothies in the morning as breakfast since it's easy. I'm going to try to experiment with different ingredients like avocado next. </p>]]></description>

Instead of exercising in gyms and following a strict fitness plan, I choose gentle exercise to connect with nature. The natural park creates a space that allows me to breathe and feel more present. Fresh air and plants can relieve my stress and clear my mind. This strategy improves my emotions and helps me recharge after a long week.  </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>While many areas of my life are hard to control, being dedicated to showing up at the gym as a consistent part of routine for years now, has been huge in my mental health and overall well-being. I could go on about the importance of physical activity and moving your body for hours - but something about being able to show up for yourself, even on the hard days where you just want to lay in bed, gives you a sense of accomplishment that I would say is irreplaceable. Using the gym as an outlet, not only for stress but for confidence and self-love is huge, and it has played a big role in my life. I always say that there’s nothing a little sun and a good gym sesh can’t fix!</p>]]></description>

Volunteering has been a great way to get some physical activity as farm work tends to be very labour intensive. Along with getting some excersise and time outdoors, volunteering at the farm helps me clear my mind/anxiety about life. There's nothing more relaxing than being able to pet a cute farm animal!          <description><![CDATA[<p>I made these protein balls to help with my sugar cravings, they’re super easy and way better than reaching for cookies late at night. They’ve got oats, almonds, peanut butter, honey a bit of chocolate, and they actually taste so good. I’ve always had a hard time with snacking and feeling bad about it after. Making these felt like a small win. It’s not perfect, but I’m trying to make better choices without being too hard on myself, and that honestly feels really good. This is perfect specially during this time as i am up till midnight to attend my summer classes since i am back home and always crave a little treat when its 2am.</p>]]></description>

Dance is something that has really helped me get a break from everything on my mind and also get in some physical activity. With school in duration it becomes quite difficult ensuring to get some physical activity in, but after reconnecting with dance its been reminding me of what I truly enjoyed and how it also allows me to take that mental break at the same time. </p>]]></description>

I love salmon because it is delicious and filled with beneficial nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins D and B12. I always make a salmon bowl when I’m missing home since my mom would make it almost weekly and say it was “brain-food” which is true because of the omega-3s!</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I have now replaced my morning coffee with these immune shots. They are made from ginger, lemon, oranges, carrots, and a little bit of honey. They are filled with vitamins and antioxidants and have boosted my immunity so much. Instead of buying caffeinated sugary drinks, I make batches of juice from different fruits and veggies each time and take one of these shots in the morning.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>]]></description>

I find hiking to be a great coping mechanism for stress because of the physical exercise it provides from all the walking uphill, as well as the mental benefits it provides from being in calm, green, quiet spaces. I find my body and mind to be way more at peace when in nature, and when I do return home after, I end up feeling more productive. Therefore, I try to go on hikes as often as possible, especially in the summer when the weather is nice.</p>]]></description>

One of my go to meals would be pesto pasta as it requires minimal steps to cook and I can include basil that I have been growing in my garden. As for preparing snacks, I have recently been loving california roll cucumber salads. This recipe can be proportioned to my liking, therefore leaving no leftovers. I also enjoy this cucumber salad as the cream cheese satisfies any sweet cravings that I may have.</p>]]></description>

On other days, we'll go to a park for a longer and more scenic activity. My favorite spot has to be Terra Nova Park in Richmond because of the stunning water-front sunsets in the spring/summer. It's peaceful, quiet, and a place I find myself going to when I need a pause.  Remy is an Australian shepherd so he has a lot of energy which makes it perfect for us to get our steps in and use it as a way to go outside and connect with nature to de-stress from our stressful student lives. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>During the wintertime, I usually do a poor job of keeping up with an exercise regimen. This year, I lived in Montreal. Winter is long and very cold here but people here are really enthusiastic about winter activities and making the most out of a difficult season. I've been inspired by how active Montrealers stay during the wintertime so I made sure I stayed active too. This picture is of me at the top of Mount Royal in early February after hiking up with my best friend. Even though it was very cold it felt great to get outside on a sunny day. On top of outside activities this winter, I stayed on top of my weightlifting routine even with a busy internship schedule. I worked out 2-4 times a week nearly every week this past year.</p>]]></description>

It was truly magical, especially because my friend and I were kind of lost and making our way down some steep and uneven terrain… we felt like there was hope to make it out (haha). The crisp air and sunlight on my skin calmed me down during the hike, and all of the nature made me feel incredibly grounded and inspired.          <description><![CDATA[<p>I haven't exercised, particularly biking, in a while. This is partly due to not having the time and being out of season since Vancouver's weather can change quite quickly. I tried using an e-bike but I actually prefer using a regular bike and it help to push me harder and exert more physical effort.</p>]]></description>
