I feel that it doesn't. I feel that it will lead to a decrease in people attending religious services etc, but I feel that it might increase religious worship as people can ask the AI questions about their quarrels.

Yes, it will lead to complacency because instead of searching for answers in scripture, people will get a 'quick fix'. This will result in less religious uphold because seeking an answer within the religion is part of practising the said religion.

Yes it does allow for complacency. Ease of use always allows for complacency, but it can also allow for greater connection possibly.

Yes it can allow for complacency because it takes away the intent of religion but it can also allow more people to connect with religion in way that is less scary and they dont have to be as vulnerable

No, it doesn't lead to complacency as one can feel safer with AI as it has no emotions, but one can asl feel weird about this. They may feel free to share about anything they want. It'll decrease religious uphold, people will become lazy and go to AI for all their answers instead of having the heart and commitment to make connection with God and look upon scriptures.

If AI is considered a false idol for acting as a religious guide, then what do we think of the pope, or the cardinals, or a priest.

As long as the AI acts in the spirit of god and follows advice, then they fall in the same vein as a priest in my opinion.

Its purpose should only be limited to giving "quick" answers to questions. It cannot be a substitute for 'idol' as its knowledge is sourced for humans.

I don't think AI's purpose should be to go for prayer and advice, I think its sole purpose should only be about religion to gain an in-depth understanding. Depending on the way AI is presented it can be considered a false idol but it's ultimately a source of knowledge. When one is religious, they should have a connection and relationship with God not AI

Its purpose is probably to make things easier for people with questions. But I think the way AI Jesus has been made is kind of making a mockery of Jesus.

It is a false idol depending on the intent of the person using it. If they are using it as a search engine to direct them to scripture, then it is not idolatry. If they are replacing God with AI Jesus by seeking out the AI for genuine advice then that is idolatry.

I don't believe that the human mind should be considered any different or more sacred than a sufficiently advanced AI. We base our views of the mind being sacred on our religious ideas and stories of us being favoured by god, but as time goes on we see more evidence that other creatures are intelligent, that we aren't the only sentient creatures. So why can't an AI be included?

The sanctity of the human mind is the it is created by God in his image. This is important because religion is a mechanism to have a relationship with God

AI does provide answers to metaphysical and theological questions, and engage in the construction of complex worldviews, however I don't think it has a soul as that requires personality and emotion - which AI clearly does not have

It will be credible once it is at a stage where it is correct to all questions, or at least reasonably correct and capable of learning. If we hold it to any higher standard then we must hold ourselves to higher standards as well, which I don't think would happen.

I feel AI is just continuously evolving, and there will most likely will be a point in time where AI is able to show information, with a credible source, that answers the specific question that the user specifically asked for.

It can be credible in terms of accuracy but not in terms of emotional intelligence but when you think of something credible you think of the facts so therefore it can be seen as credible when it gets every answer correct

It can cause potential conflict as AI can answer in a way that suits certain individuals which could differ from the views of others with the same religion. AI altering its answers to suit your point of view and what you want to hear may cause conflicts with others of the same or different religions.

I didn't even knew A.I and religion worked together until last weeks RST lessons. As a religious person, this wont affect anything I do on a day-to-day basis, and i doubt any community will ever form from this.
