CKI is a volunteer group with chapters all over the country as well as in many other countries. I recently joined CU Boulder's local chapter, and as part of my goals to improve my leadership and other soft skills, I applied for a leadership chair. As of now I am the fundraiser chair in CKI, and accordingly I will have to use communication, leadership, and planning to manage fundraiser events for CKI.

“Simplicity, carried to the extreme, becomes elegance.”— Jon Franklin, computer scientist

Something I love about computer science is how much its pushed and prodded in today's world. Extensive research into every crevasse means that everything is highly efficient, and like the quote says, when things become simple enough it becomes elegance. I hope to apply this mindset to my education in computer science, by pushing everything I do to be efficient to train my problem solving. To me, problems like that are the most fun to solve and have the most useful solutions.

When it comes to computer science, bugs are inherent and plentiful. This quote speaks to a practice in computer science of checking for edge cases, and trying to think of every possible scenario and account for it. Obviously it isn't possible, but it's this characteristic of computer science that enables industries like cybersecurity and provides the biggest joy in coding: trouble shooting.

This is the most important quote to me. Computer science is an art, and art is something you should enjoy. It's amazing to see projects put out all the time. They're made at every skill level, every quality, and of everything. I want to approach all of my professional life with fun in mind, and with the goal of making art for anyone to enjoy.

I'm super interested in cybersecurity, and being able to have a resource like this to help teach me is incredibly useful. This website will help with my personal growth, and if I grow advanced enough I can even include it on my resume.
