I think that the idea of a tiny home is in fact a good idea, especially in his case, because even after college he will have a place for him to live and it cost him almost nothing in comparison to apartments. Personally, I think this wouldn't be that hard for me as I like to spend time outside allot anyways, but this would instead be great because I like cozy environments. Some benefits of this living arrangement are the fact that they are cost-effective, good for the environment, and, in his words, "Simpler". Some negatives are losing the possibility of having multiple people over at once, possible fire hazards, and the dangers it poses to neighbors

My top three favorite homes

1) My first favorite home is the "fox house". I like this house because of the natural light, the peacefulness, and the connection to nature. All of these together form a very calm home which one can "get lost" in.
2) My second favorite home is the converted greenhouse. This house, much like the first, has a large amount of light coming in from all directions, and a large amount of plants. These features again come in to play with connecting to nature but with an extra perk. This house is bigger and allows room for guests to come over and maybe share a glass of wine.
3) The wall home is my third house on this list, mainly because of its bright colors and rich history. Some other factors that came into play during this time were the fact that it could house six people, and that it seemed larger than it was, a trait not commonly seen in the other small homes

My home (Below) has lots of natural light as well as cool, natural colors, these are traits that came from my first few decisions, such as natural wood and an Elm home design. It has open space, working heating, lights, etc. and is really fit for me. I enjoy the many plugs around the house for all my accessories, as well as the secondary bed downstairs. For me, a bed is very important not only for myself, but also for other people that may stay with may during my stay, (Roommates, friends, family, etc.) It also has a bathroom with the sink by the door because personally, I think that is just more accessible for when I want to wash my hands without walking through the entire bathroom. Also, I placed my bathroom next to my room because that's honestly just allot easier in the middle of the night or the morning to get ready for the day. I also have bookshelves and extra storage because I like the idea of having lots of art and things to decorate my home. My kitchen is a corner, this is because it allows more room for things like sofas and tables in the great room. I also chose a full porch because I enjoy the ability to be outside and still feel safe because I am on my own property. I did not choose the steps because they are unnecessary. I also chose to add a side door because I like the idea of always having a second exit. I chose to get a chandelier because I like the idea of having one of those in my own room. I did not choose to have a railing because that costs extra and it'll be fun to jump off of the loft. I also added a media center and a desk because I want to have a place to work as well as a place to relax and watch netflix. I would not have a composable toilet because I don't trust it to not smell at all. I also chose the propane/extra electric combo because I plan to use the dual laundry machine as well as an air conditioner, while still wanting to use propane for cooking.

Misconceptions

One misconception that people have about tiny homes is that you just buy a random lot and then you're done. Well, this is not actually true. Buying a lot takes into consideration many things, such as how much land you want, how close to a city you are, and are you in range of a potential job? Another misconception that many people have about small houses is that you won't face any people who are against the idea of a tiny house. In a world, where bigger means better, having a small house can lead to allot of hate from people wh

My "Footprint"

According to the first test, I use the most resources in my forms of transportation. This is because I take the bus from far away, drive pretty far to the bus stop, go to the gym almost every day, and I often drive around with my parents. This impact is hurting the atmosphere and is one of the most common factors of global warming. However, when I redid my results in Australia, the effect was completely different. In Australia, my mobility had a much greater effect in comparison to my other topics, even though my total was half as many earths. This may have something to do with Australia having cleaner energy sources, reducing most of my other categories. When completed with a smaller home, I had a very small footprint, and this time, mobility was a massive part of my energy. This is probably due to behaving to drive a long distance to work every day. The second test agreed with my first, putting mobility as my highest thing. My water footprint is 1,886 gallons/day. As I was completing this assignment, I noticed that the water level in the back rose or fell depending on my decisions. If I lived in a small house, first, I would not eat as much meat because I need space to store other things, and I would be more conservative of my electricity, using less water. When I lived in a tiny house, my overall gallons went down, but not my enough to make a very large difference.
