Catherine marries Henry VIII on 28 July 1540 at Oatlands Castle in Surrey, immediately after the annulment of King’s  and Anne of Cleves' marriage . Found guilty of adultery and treason, she was beheaded in the Tower of London after less than two years of marriage.

Anna, together with her brother Giorgio and her sister Maria, spent her childhood in the family castle in Hever, Kent. She had at least two other brothers, Enrico and Tommaso, who did not survive childhood. She moved to Frence. During her stay at the court of France Anna was able to learn the French language, also developing interests in art, illuminated manuscripts, literature, music, poetry and religious philosophy, as well as acquiring knowledge on French culture, on dance, etiquette and courtly love, thanks also to a probable meeting with Margherita d'Angoulême (sister of King Francis I of France), patron of humanists and reformers, as well as a poet and writer herself (between his works there were some dealing with the theme of Christian mysticism, tending to heresy). The quality of the education that Anna received was demonstrated on her return home, when she inspired new thoughts and fashions among the ladies of the English court. In January 1522 Anna was called to marry her Irish cousin several years older than her, James Butler, who lived at the English court. This marriage arose from the need to settle a family dispute concerning the county of Ormond and the relative noble title. King Henry VIII begins to court her and she finds this courtship pleasant, she is just the woman for him in fact she conceived the desired male child.
