Great Module

Firstly, the seminar about change was great - very constructive and useful especially to reflect back on and how you could change in a similar situation. It is easily linked to change we experience in work.
secondly, the information within the lecture slides are great. They are very useful, and the lecturers DONT read off the slides, but add a lot of extra information that compliment them - which is perfect, as it means we can write down what we want in our words and feel engaged in the lectures.

The module itself is interesting at times and has the potential to become gripping. However, there is a lack of retention with what is being said in lectures at times. There is much more room for improvement on this module, like with everything. There is always room for improvement. There seems to be a lot of wasted time in seminars where many students feel that they only want the essential materials and knowledge required for assessments.Instead of wasting time talking about unnecessary content and activities. Time in lectures seems to drag on and in turn causing a lack of engagement with students and no doubt lecturers too. Many lecturers add additional information which is great for looking back on for assignments.

I feel that the module is useful and can be enjoyable at times, I prefer seminars to lectures as I feel I get more out of it. I feel that the lectures can be very dry, and that some of the lecturers don't always try and engage us, we are just being fed information.

The change situation seminar was excellent, it was engaging and useful. We were able to relate it to everyday life and is good for reflection. I do feel that as a whole we do not get anywhere near enough HR practical work, probably down to the layout of the programme, but I do feel that more practical type work would be beneficial and keep us engaged. Work that would allow us to see how HR works in practice as opposed to just constant theory.

The module is well structured and assessments have been clear since week 1.
Having different lectures is beneficial as different lecture have different teach styles. The content of lectures can sometimes be a bit repetitive of modules in previous years - things that we already know.
The use of videos and interactive sessions is good during the lectures as it keeps us alert.
The task in week 4 was great! More of that would be useful. It is nice to see how the theory works in the real world.
Having a one hour seminar and then one hour when you have face to face contact with your tutor is worthwhile, it gives you time to ask any further questions.

The length of the lecture can be a bit too long, although most week it shortened to 1.5hours.
Perhaps having more interactive seminars would be useful too.

Overall a very good and interesting module. And no written exam!

The change exercise in week 4 was really good however I feel most seminars are filled with pointless exercises and could be more productive.

The lectures for the most part are interesting however some lecturers have a tendency to read directly from the slides with no further input which makes the time drag as we are more than capable of reading the slides ourselves. This is not the case for all, as some have provided further insight which enables us to comment in our own words which enhances our understanding of the topics. A change of room would be good for the lecture as it is always boiling which makes staying focused difficult.

The most interesting aspect of the module is the Change Exercise of week 4. This allows some of us with little change experience to go through the process and apply its theoretical underpinnings to real world changes.

The lectures are sometimes dull with a lot of theory and very little in practice however I am aware it must meet particular GCU standards of theoretical knowledge.

The assignments of a reflective piece and a case study analysis is a good one. It allows the students to gain further analysis into self and improve for the future. Whilst the case study analysis allows the theoretical knowledge to be critically analysed to what happens in practice.

Overall, the module is very interesting. However, like many modules its heavy use of theory replaces some of the practical experience which would provide the students with further value.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this module as the theory can be linked to real organisational experience. Pat has been excellent and informative in the seminars, making sure everyone feels comfortable with coursework. On the other hand, the lectures could be improved as sometimes the lecturer is just reading off the slides. The assessment style is extremely suitable and manageable for 4th year students. Overall, it is a really good module.
