Born & bred production agriculture and this continues to be my "major" throughout a life of learning.
3. I hope to learn as much from all of you, as we exchange ideas. That's what "collaborative learning" is all about, i.e., sharing knowledge, building community, while we improve our practice.
4. My fun fact is that we created the very 1st Center for Regenerative Agriculture on a University Campus in 2019, 13 years after we created the first University-based Organic Dairy in the Western U.S. I do some of my best work outside the box.

I also recently joined an agri-village project called Rooted Northwest that combines intentional community and co-housing with farming on a 240 acre property about an hour north of Seattle. I hope to share what I learn about RA with my community and help apply regenerative principles to our new farm.

4) Fun fact: I was born in Germany and am a dual citizen. Guten Tag!

Yes those are hemp plants in the photo, and yes I'm wearing a hemp hat. 😄

For those who don't know, hemp refers to low-THC (non-intoxicating) varieties of Cannabis sativa. High-THC (intoxicating) varieties are called marijuana. "Industrial hemp" means hemp grown for fiber or seed. Most hemp in the U.S. is grown for CBD, which is a cannabinoid molecule like THC that doesn't get you high but has many potential medical benefits.
