I was fishing down by the lake and I had thought i had learned to use a bait caster by that age. I remember the water and the weather and how pretty it was and my dad was telling me i didn't even own a bait caster at this time.

This is the iconic memory of the first time pulling up our lake house. I remember first pulling up to the house. I remember seeing the house, the trees, the boat, the lake, and i also remember the sun. Its a memory i can feel and i will never forget.

The self reference effect is when i can relate myself to the memory. I remember the first time i ever went fishing at lake Murray. This memory is easy to connect to me because it brought me the biggest compassion in my life that was fishing. Every time i go fishing i look back to that moment too when my dad asked me to go and i am glad i said yes. I think about that day a lot and how much it has brought me in this life all because i went fishing on lake Murray.

This is an explicit memory of me when i used to go crappie fishing when i was a kid. I used to go it a lot but as i got older i stopped doing it. I forgot how to crappie fish and all the techniques but with my explicit memories i can pull the information i need thinking about it. I have to think about the baits, rods, and spots that don't just come off the top of my head but i remember them.

Out on lake Murray over the years I've learned many skills and one i do without thinking consciously now would be driving a boat. I started to learn how to drive a boat when i was eight and now I'm much older and it just comes to me naturally. I know every switch and everything about a boat from being taught out on the lake and its something ill always know how to do without thinking.

I was out on lake Murray as usual is was an early morning to go fishing which is at 5 am. We started fishing and about at 7 am i was throwing my favorite top water lure. I got the blow up on my bait and i hooked into this fish. I was fighting it and it jumped up out of the water it was the biggest bass i have ever seen. When it jumped it threw my bait and i was just crushed. I actually started crying out on the middle of the lake. I was angry, sad, and confused on why of course i lose that one big one. It messed with me the rest of my day and i didn't catch much the rest of the day still being heartbroken by losing that one big one.

This has a lot to do with my palace being lake Murray. Learning and keeping the whole place as a memory. Learning how to drive a boat and remembering how to get to certain spots on the lake. How to water ski, tube, and wake board. All the friends and family and good times I've had there has to go with long term potentiation and glutamate. Every time i go or have memory's I'm excited because its just a place i love and have had many good times and have learned many things down at Lake Murray.
