         <description><![CDATA[<div>~32nd President of the United States<br>~Was the only President to be elected to serve four times.<br>~His first inauguration was on March 4, 1933.<br>~Died in office in April 1945<br>~When he had entered the office as president, the U.S. had reached desperate measures because of the Great Depression (with 13 million unemployed)<br>~He was the president who began the radio chats where he spoke directly to the American people.<br>~Emergency Banking Relief Act was passed by him in which this help tremendously because three out of every four banks were open within a week.<br>~New Deal: a series of programs and projects instituted during the Great Depression that aimed to restore prosperity to Americans.<br>     -There were programs, such as the CCC, the WPA, the TVA, the SEC and others, that aimed to restore some measure of dignity and prosperity to many Americans.</div>]]></description>

He kept this job for the following 7 years.<br>~1918 was when he traveled to Europe to tour naval bases when the U.S. had entered World War II. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>~World War II was Roosevelt's main focus and motivation to run once again for presidency.<br>~Lend Lease Act- (March 1941) was the principal means for providing U.S. military aid to foreign nations during World War II. This was made in order to help Great Britain go against Germany<br>~After the Japanese attack in Pearl Harbor on December 8, 1941 the United States Congress declared war again Japan who was part of Axis and joined their opponents, Great Britain and the Soviet Union.<br>~During this time period he would still communicate with his people through the radio updating on war events and rallying the American people to support the war.<br>~He won his fourth election as president in 1944.<br>~Because of the Big Three (Roosevelt, Stalin, and Churchill) the United Nations was created.<br>~On April 12, 1945 Roosevelt suffered a massive cerebral hemorrhage; he died later that day, and was succeeded in office by his vice president, Harry S. Truman.</div>]]></description>
