China is one of the world's oldest and most complex civilizations. It has over 5000 years of artistic , philosophical, political, and scientific advancement. There is so much to read about and see of the culture and country.

His focus was on creating ethical models of family and public interaction, and setting educational standards, which came from the principle of "ren/人" or "loving others" while exercising self-discipline.

"What you do not wish for yourself, do not do to others." (Lunyu 12.2, 6.30).  This quote is considered a golden rule and reading it a couple times really gives a great impression of who this person was and how much they valued living in peace. Modern society is very rooted into this view and respect is something that is sacred and held to a high standard. Harmony is viewed as the balance of the diversity and is what brings us together.

So far China has invested a lot of money in the country and abroad! They are supporting many companies on their research and development to innovate more environmentally conscious technologies that can move us away from machines and industries that are currently outdated and lacking restructuring. Moving away from fossil fuels has been their goal and it shows with their involvements around the  world.  Here are some highlights of the sectors they are leading in:
  • Five of the world’s six largest solar-module manufacturing firms
  • The largest wind-turbine manufacturer
  • The world’s largest lithium ion manufacturer
  • The world’s largest electricity utility

In China, there are many different types of instruments. These consist of wind instruments, plucked instruments, stringed and percussion. Below are two links to some samples of music. Most of the music is still very traditional and has not changed for long time so you can always hear that very classical sound of Chinese music.

Theater/Arts:
Beijing (北京） is the most influential for its opera and has a history of 200 years in performances. Symbolism is what takes center in the stage designs and the motions of the act, and these operas usually consist of singing, dancing, martial arts, and instrumental music.

Calligraphy, more known as shu fa (书法)：
Is an abstract form of art and is often said to be very revealing of one's personality. An interesting fact about this is that during the Imperial Era (221 B.C.), it was a criterion used to decide who would become an executive of the Imperial court. This was because the strokes to draw were considered permanent and demanding, in addition with confidence to complete, as these attributes were considered very important to be part of the court. On the other side of it, it can also be used to express creativity, delving on the human side and using imagination.
