One of his notorious bad deeds was his sentencing of men of all ranks to a certain death, oftentimes without trial or evidence. He demanded taxes and tributes from conquered towns and kept the money for himself. He also did not invest into his troops, which later led to his downfall as an emperor. He was selfish in not doing much for Rome's economy by keeping a large sum of money for himself. He was disliked by many politicians and governors, and a lot of the population of Rome.
