I can already see change in the neighborhood when i walk home, people i never thought i'd see here are taking walks with their kids and dogs. There is so much construction going on. I think choi's message is valid. My family along with many other families of color still go to small business's for things we need that we can only find there. Big chain stores only have things that are known inside the U.S. occasionally a few imported things. Never what we need though. Without these stores we wouldn't be able to make our traditional foods.

  Personally, the artist's message here is like less of a message and more so kind of an insider on what it feels like being kids of immigrants. They'll always view certain professions as a hobby, not something that someone should actually pursue because it doesn't "guarantee a job like a doctor or a lawyer". It is probably still happening to this day and kids get pressured into careers they aren't truly passionate about for their families.
