While reading the story, they banished Ben for attempting to murder Thomas. When the doors to the glade closed and Ben was locked out forever and left to the beasts, Thomas cried instead of being slightly relieved or even sad. He cried. This makes me wonder if Thomas actually has a little wrong in him. He may feel that there is something in him that makes people want to attack him. This makes sense because the leaders are also always questioning him about everything. They didn't question anybody else. This also leads me to think that some of the leaders sense something different or dangerous about Thomas.

This is a picture form the movie for my book. Thomas in my book went outside the glade when the doors closed. He knew he would probably die but he did it anyway. Thomas is now going to have to survive a night with those things lurking all around. This picture is meant to put a creepy and frightening image in your head to try to make you feel how Thomas is feeling. Nobody has ever survived a night in the maze and Thomas would be a legend if he did it. This leads me to think that since Thomas is the main character, he will survive and become what he has wanted to be.. a runner.

While reading the story, Thomas was bothered by the fact that the griever's cry when falling was cut short right as it fell of the cliff. Thomas threw a rock down the cliff and it kept falling. Thomas keeps wondering about that fact as he walks toward the camp. This makes me wonder if it could have some type of importance later on in the story. It could play a major role in escaping the maze. This also makes me wonder if jumping off the cliff gets you to another level of the maze. This could be true because the griever only fell a couple of feet before it disappeared.

While reading I saw a tough questions sign post. Thomas is trapped in the maze an Minho, his only conscious companion disappeared at the first sound of a griever. Thomas was then faced with a tough question. Leave Alby( the leader of everyone safe in the glade) to die and have a better chance of surviving or try to drag him along and have an even lower chance of survival. This question makes me wonder what Thomas would do with Alby. Alby weighs a ton and it would be really hard to hide him. This also makes me wonder what would happen in the glade without their leader. This makes me wonder if Thomas would be kicked out of the glade if Alby dies. This would make sense because many of the gladers resent Thomas because many weird things have happened since his arrival.

While reading the book I saw a contrasts and contradictions signpost. Alby who has just seen some terrible things should think that Thomas is awful just like all of other people who have been stung by grievers and go through the changing. Alby is nicer to Thomas.when he goes through the painful changing. This makes me think why he is doing this. I think he is trying to get Thomas comfortable with him so he can really see if Thomas is good or bad. This makes sense because Thomas has brought up a lot of questions in the glade. A lot of people dislike him. Thomas though has also did a lot of crazy things for the glade like survive a night outside in the maze.
