Just because a certain assessment seems clear to the teacher ,that does not mean that it's understood by the students. Over the years I have learned about the importance of breaking up assignments into chunks, including bullet points and writing checklists. When assigments are split up into chunks with bullet points, it helps the students not feel overwhelmed by the assignment/assessment. Additionally, any time a student with any type of learning disability looks at unclear instructions/expectation, he will very likely give up before he even starts.
