         <title>Social Structure of Tang China</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Tang China there was a strict social class based on who you were born to, and how much money your family had. On the top of the class was royalty and wealthy land owners, followed by scholars and warriors, then came merchants and working people who farmed and crafted for the rich.&nbsp;As shown in the graph, the class system was very structured with most people in the working and lower class having very little power and money compaired to those of higher classes. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Tang Dynasty is widly known as a golden age of culture, art and music in China. Musicians and artists became much more important then ever before. The most popular instruments were bells, drums and flutes. Statues of the Buddha became common, and poetry and painting were becoming widespread across China. New styles of art were created like the sancai pottery style, that sculpters used to make figurines found in tombs. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Tang China women were treated with more respect then in other places such as India, they could also become powerful figure such as priestesses and other religious figures. Some could even join the government. Most women worked in the household and took care of childern and housework, while the higher class wealthy women could become religious or political workers.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Mongol's mostly lived in tribes led by a male cheif, who was usually the millitary leader of the clan.&nbsp; They were at the top of the socal class, followed by Muslim and Central Asian allies, then the Northern Chinese people and on the bottom were the Han Chinese and the people south. The graph explains that people higher up on the social structure enjoy benifits like paying less taxes, or not having to do as much labor. </div>]]></description>

Women also had more rights then on other cultures they could own and inherit property, could participate in religious ceremonies and become religious leaders and wives of tribal leaders could speak at meetings. Women were also important in warfare they would follow the main forces in slow wagons that carried vital supplies like food.&nbsp; </div>]]></description>

Male and female cloths were similar, they were both made of animal skins, leather, wool, felt or fur. The rich even had silk.&nbsp;A deel is a traditional Mongol robe that was widly worn by many. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>While the Mongols weren't known for their science  and literature like Tang China was, they cultivated the art's of the people they conqured. Under Genghis Khan many artists, scientists and other scholars were relocated to Mongolia to create art desired by the Mongols. They also loved music and even had their own type of singing called khoomi, which is kindof like singing two notes at the same time one higher and one lower. The main instuament used was the morin khuur, which were kind of like modern day cellos. </div>]]></description>
