Relative location describes where something is about located next to, for example ¨Australia's nearest neighbors are South Pacific islands.¨

The continental drift theory is basically an idea that once all of the continents were once connected as one to form pangea. And that now there all separated because of tectonic plates moving, and the tectonic plates are still and will continue to keep moving as time goes on. This idea was from a man named Alfred Wegener. Australia being its own continent means they have a lot of unique and different kinds of animals and some can only be found in Australia due to being isolated on their own.

Great Britain first used America to store there over flowed prisoners. But when America rebelled and gained the independence in 1783 Great Britain had nowhere to put there prisoners. So they sent them to Australia to get them as far away from there country as possible. Little did we know these prisoners started Australia's first European settlement. They stopped sending prisoners there in 1868. When these prisoners were out of prison, lots were given land to farm. Then a giant treasure hunt started... gold was found. Australia gained their independence in 1901 but still are impacted by the British by putting "A small copy of the British '"Union Jack"' in one corner. The Union Jack is the British national flag."
