Right now you're in 2nd grade so this letter will tell you what to expect next year. 3rd grade is not completely like Kindergarten, first, or second grade! There is still some fun, but you really have to work hard to learn new things! There are a few things you should already know from 2nd grade like how to listen to your teacher and follow directions. First, I will tell you about some things you'll learn in 3rd grade!

What We Learn About
In 3rd Grade, we learn about a lot of new things! For example, you will have to do word problems that require many steps. You may have to add, subtract, multiply or divide to find an answer. Speaking of multiplication, start working on learning your multiplication facts now! You will use these all year long! In reading, you will start to read several texts in one sitting and answer questions about them. When we write, we don't ask the question "How many sentences????" That's for babies! We are writing paragraphs and essays in 3rd Grade! So be ready for that! One big thing we are working towards in 3rd Grade is getting ready for the GA Milestones. Will you be ready by the end of the year? You will need to work all year to get prepared!

The Fun Stuff
3rd Grade can be fun too! One example of fun and games in 3rd is Field day! Just like in 2nd grade, we have field day with games outside and fun with friends. We also play alot of games to review skills. For example, Time to climb is a fun game we play in Nearpod. Your character can climb the mountain to the top when you get an answer right. We also use Blooket. Now talk about FUN! You can review any skill and play gold quest or Factory. You can glitch other players and make them go crazy! We love playing games to review our learning! Finally, don't forget RECESS! We still go to the playground and have a great time in 3rd Grade!

Conclusion
I hope you have learned alot about what to expect in 3rd grade! The teachers are nice, but they do expect you to work hard and do your best. If y6u begin to prepare now, 3rd Grade will be a piece of cake! I know you will be awesome!
