Our school is situated in a village Plazane in Despotovac municipality. It carries the name of our famous poet and painter Djura Jaksic. There are ninety-six pupils, twenty-one teachers, six staff, one principal, one child pedagogue, and a school secretary. Our school has six classrooms, a library, cabinet for chemistry and physics, a digital classroom, a gym, which is currently being renovated, and student cafeteria. Pupils are learning two foreign languages: English and Russian.
Some of the pupils come from the nearby villages Grabovica and Zlatovo because in their primary schools education only lasts 4 years (from the age of 6-7 to 10-11 ), then they move to Plazane and attend school for four more years.
A small number of pupils is something that we are facing today and will be facing in years to come but that does not prevent us from being involved in a variety of activities, competitions, sport events and achieving excellent results. We are said to be "a small school with a big heart"
