A child's belief in Santa Clause is a classic example of magical belief.  Parents often use the rouse of "You better be good if you want Santa to bring you presents" to get their children to behave.  In turn, children believe that if they are good a make believe character will bring them presents.

Conversations observed among children this age may come off as egocentric since it may seem like they are not listening to each other.  However, what they may be witnessing along with parallel play is parallel conversation.

Their point of view is very singular for the most part. Simply cutting my daughters sandwich in half without explaining what I am about to do first, can create panic with her.
