Through the Learning Apps digital game, we reinforced Basic Life Skills in a fun and interactive environment. Digital games keep students' attention engaged, ensuring active participation in learning, and support problem-solving and decision-making skills. Thanks to game-based learning, students become more permanent as they recognize appropriate behaviors for situations they may encounter in daily life.

In our "My Dream Job" activity, we asked our students what profession they wanted to pursue when they grow up. Each student shared their dream, and we visualized and concretized their chosen professions using artificial intelligence. Through this activity, our students not only learned about different professions but also experienced the excitement of combining their dreams with technology. ✨

We talked to our students about the professions they want to pursue in the future, and each of them introduced their dream jobs. They shared different professions such as pilot, police officer, teacher, doctor, and firefighter, and learned about each other's professions. This activity allowed our students to dream and gain awareness about different professions. 🌟👩‍🏫👨‍✈️👮‍♂️🚒🩺

We worked on our mixed-country team project on the problem of air pollution and proposed solutions, using a world map. The web 2.0 tool we used was StoryMap JS.

Hava kirliliği, atmosferde sağlığa ve çevreye zarar veren zararlı gaz, partikül ve kimyasal maddelerin birikmesi durumudur. Bu kirleticiler; sanayi tesislerinden çıkan dumanlar, araç egzozları, enerji üretimi, tarım faaliyetleri ve yanlış atık yönetimi gibi kaynaklardan atmosfere karışır. Hava kirliliği solunum yolu hastalıklarını, kalp ve damar problemlerini artırır, ekosistemlere zarar verir ve iklim değişikliğini hızlandırır.

En çok nerelerde görülür:

Büyük şehirler ve sanayi bölgeleri

Trafiğin yoğun olduğu bölgeler

Enerji üretim tesislerinin yakın çevresi

Ormansızlaşmış ve tarımsal yangınların sık görüldüğü alanlar

Türkiye’de durum:

Türkiye’de hava kirliliği özellikle İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir ve Bursa gibi büyük şehirlerde, sanayi bölgeleri olan Kocaeli, Sakarya ve Eskişehir çevresinde yoğun olarak görülmektedir. Bunun nedeni yoğun trafik, sanayi tesisleri ve fosil yakıt kullanımının fazla olmasıdır.

Çözüm Önerileri

Evde yapılabilecekler:

Enerji tasarruflu aydınlatma ve elektrikli cihaz kullanımı ile karbon salımını azaltmak.

Araç kullanımını azaltıp yürüyüş, bisiklet veya toplu taşıma tercih etmek.

Evde bitki yetiştirerek iç mekân havasını temizlemek (örneğin, aloe vera, paşa kılıcı, salon bitkileri).

Okulda yapılabilecekler:

Okul bahçesinde ağaç ve bitki dikerek temiz hava alanları oluşturmak.

Öğrencilere geri dönüşüm ve enerji tasarrufu bilinci kazandıracak eğitim ve etkinlikler düzenlemek.

Okul içi ulaşımda bisiklet ve yaya yolları teşvik ederek karbon salımını azaltmak.

Ülke bazında yapılabilecekler:

Fosil yakıt kullanımını azaltıp, yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarına (güneş, rüzgar, hidroelektrik) geçiş yapmak.

Toplu taşıma altyapısını geliştirmek ve elektrikli araç kullanımını teşvik etmek.

Hava kirliliği sınırlarını belirleyen yasalar ve denetimler uygulayarak sanayi ve şehirlerde temiz hava standartlarını sağlamak.

Air Pollution

Definition:

Air pollution occurs when harmful gases, particles, and chemicals accumulate in the atmosphere, causing damage to human health and the environment. These pollutants come from sources such as industrial emissions, vehicle exhausts, energy production, agricultural activities, and improper waste management. Air pollution increases respiratory and heart diseases, harms ecosystems, and accelerates climate change.

Where it is most common:

Large cities and industrial areas

Regions with heavy traffic

Near energy production facilities

Areas affected by deforestation and agricultural fires

In Turkey:

In Turkey, air pollution is most severe in major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Bursa, and in industrial regions like Kocaeli, Sakarya, and Eskişehir. The main causes are dense traffic, industrial facilities, and high fossil fuel use.

Solutions

At Home:

Use energy-efficient lighting and appliances to reduce carbon emissions.

Reduce car use and prefer walking, cycling, or public transport.

Grow indoor plants to improve air quality (e.g., aloe vera, snake plant, or other houseplants).

At School:

Plant trees and greenery in schoolyards to create clean air zones.

Organize educational activities to teach students about recycling and energy conservation.

Promote walking and cycling paths to reduce carbon emissions within school areas.

At National Level:

Reduce fossil fuel use and shift to renewable energy sources (solar, wind, hydroelectric).

Improve public transportation infrastructure and encourage the use of electric vehicles.

Implement strict air quality laws and inspections to ensure clean air standards in cities and industries.

We played digital games with our students on the theme of 'Green Homeland'. Our students, who learned while having fun, gained awareness about environmental consciousness and had enjoyable moments.
