Encyclopedia Brown was such a good book because it had little clues to solve the mysteries and did not just throw the solution at you. Here is an example from one chapter the balloon floated up to the tree but Izzy the balloon man only blew into his balloons with air so it could not have floated up. Also it is just a really good book in general and I like how it shows how much you pay attention to books. That is why I liked Encyclopedia Brown.

I liked Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Secret Pitch because it allows you to try and solve the cases yourself. If you can't solve the case then there are answers at the back of the book. For example it gives you clues throughout the case to help you solve it. And they put the answers at the back of the book instead of at the end of the case so you're not tempted to peek at the answers before you do deep thinking about the solution to the case. Mystery is a great genre!

I read Car Trouble. In the story a stranger tried to pick up two kids named Lewis and claire from school because there dad had car trouble. Lewis was going to get in the strangers car. I wondered if Lewis will get in the car. In the text it said Lewis wasn't sure what to do. I know that if I was lewis I wouldn't get in the strangers car. In the end Lewis didn't get in the car

In Steven Schuch's symphony of whales, Glashka's village sent her and her parents to go to the closest village to get supplies to prepare for the winter since the first snowfall came early.

The day before they left, Glashka had wanted to drive the sled dogs to the next village; her parents did not trust her in driving them to the next village,but they did trust her on the way home.

On the night before they would leave, glashka had strange dreams about what would happen the next day,which made me predict it would happen.

my prediction was right and led them to a group of whales. the village came to them and set up a camp.they called an icebreaker and waited. the whales were perishing and the icebreaker was being delayed.

at the last second, the icebreaker lured the whales in with recordings of whale's songs and took them to safety.

this book made me think about animals way of life and their struggles that we create for them. as i read this book i came to imagine the message of the story to be "all mammals, insects, humans, and other life forms to be equal." in conclusion, this book made me think that everyone is equal, and has struggles, but we should all be treated like we are always equal.(aspecaily whales!)

I read Private Ei. Eileen and Jerome are at their house. Their niehbor Ms. Scatters complains that their garbage is knocked down. Eileen & Jerome are corius how it got knocked down. Next they went to 3 houses to find clues. The clues they found were a broken side mirror, a stripe of red paint, and mud tracks. Last they went to Ms. Scatters's house because she lost her glasses she couldn't see! She was the culprate. I really like mysteries. this book has all the crafts a good mystery should have.

I read the book Magic Tree House. In this story Jack was scared to touch the creature then he wrote in his notebook,

:Fuzzy skin, small brain. Later they thought that they were in the past because dinosaurs are from a long long ago. Also Jack did not think that creature was still alive! That made me feel really surprised that they were in the past! i got really scared for them.

I read the book Poor Little Kittens. This story reminds me of when I saved a turtle's life, the turtle was very sad. I made this connection because Lisa saved a few kittens when the mother sadly died, but she still saved the kittens, just like I saved a turtle. It is a little different because I saved a turtle's life by getting it unstuck from mud & scraping mud of it's shell, then it snapped at me when I was petting it. Lisa saved the kittens by taking them to the vet & taking care of them, and she never forgot to feed, bath, or play with them, even tho she forgets everything. At the end I felt happy that the kittens were saved.
